Supplements for a Champion!
Okay, maybe not as a champion, but maybe as a Beachbody Success Story? Personally, I firmly believe that anyone could get great transformation and results as long as they focus on 1)intense workout 2) proper healthy diet 3) proper supplements. If you’re doing only 2 of the 3, your results will not be as good as those who do all 3. Supplements might not be necessary if you’re eating organic healthy food and herbs, but people who like that are rare. Most of us have a full time job, kids, errands etc and could not spend all the time in the world to find the best ingredients out there for our body – just like the doctors said on the Shakeology video 😉
From my own experience, I rely a lot on supplements to see significant changes on my body. I know that majority of hardgainers have low level of digestive enzymes thus, their body are inefficient in absorbing good amount of nutrients from food. That is why I believe that supplements would help hardgainers fight their genetics. Here are the supplements that I currently take:
1) Whey Protein
2) P90X Recovery Drink
3) Beachbody Men’s Muscle & Strength Formula (creatine)
5) Gold Standard Casein Protein
I usually have a serving of Whey + Shakeology the first thing in the morning when I wake up. About 30 min before working out, I’d drink SuperPump250 as a preworkout supplement so that I’d be pumped to hit my workout intensely. Right after workout, I’d mix 1 scoop of Beachbody Creatine with 2 scoops of P90X Recovery Drink. About 30-40 min after workout, I’d have another scoop of Whey Protein. And the last supplement of the day would be a mixture of Whey and Casein protein.
I have no special preference or recommendation for Whey brand; you should choose a brand that is affordable and would give you more value for your money. The more expensive Whey usually taste better and have better ingredients in it. On another note, whether creatine is good for your or not, that’d be another topic to discuss 🙂
